After a great day with family and friends, we noticed that the tide looked very high as we drove into Laguna Beach, so we went to Ruby Street Park to get a nice view of the waves crashing on the rocks. I haven’t been posting pictures lately, because the ocean has been looking the same: hazy… We’ve been having somewhat lousy weather lately – cold, clouds, haze – so the ocean hasn’t been particularly attractive from the house. Today, however, I have two posts of images and movies I took yesterday. The first set is from Redondo Beach where I went to visit my Mother. The day was clear, but cold and windy, so the surf was really crashing on the beach and the breakwater. On Sunday, we went to explore Ruby Street Park and the nearby paths to the beaches. I put a few pictures and a movie of the surf on my Flikr page. I’ve created a new category in which I will post pictures of the ocean. I will try to take a picture every day and post it here. If I could find a way to not have these pictures all show up on the front page, I would, but I don’t see an obvious way in WordPress. I remember such a feature in Drupal, but will not be switching back any time soon. (Update: I used a plugin called “Front Page Categories” and it seems to work. If you want to see my ocean pictures, click on the “Ocean Views” category in the website header. |
